Comfy.....bed socks


I designed these socks for myself and found they're s-o-o-o-o-o comfortable and warm and want everyone to experience the comfort in wearing them throughout the cold, cold winter months ahead.  They're also an answer for a person, that's hard to buy for, at gift giving time.  Another thought, it's a perfect way to use your left over yarn.  Wouldn't they be pretty crocheted in different colors?


Materials:    

1    Red Heart Super Saver (color of choice)


Tools:

H hook

Scissors

Instructions


Ch 100 or more rows for longer sock.....less rows for shorter sock.

Row 1:    Sc in 3th ch.  Sc in each st to end.

Row 2:    Ch 3.  Hdc, in back loop, in 4th ch in each st to end.

Row 3:    Ch 3.  Hdc, in 3th loop in back, leaving 2 loops showing in front. 

Row 4:    Ch 3.  Sc, in front loop facing crocheter.  

Row 5 - 28:    Repeat row 4.  The wider the sock.....more rows are needed.  The smaller the sock..... 

                       less rows are needed.   

Turn inside out.  Sl st sides together.  

With yarn doubled, weave though bottom edge of sock.  Pull tight; gathering the toe of sock as tight as possible.  Tie off.  Turn inside out.  Weave in loose yarn.  Trim.


You're FINISHED!!!


Hat Pin Cushion


Materials:
1    small ball of 4-ply worsted weight 100% acrylic yarn.  Color of choice
Small amount of 4-ply worsted weight 100% acrylic yarn.  Color of choice
Small amount of fiberful
Velcro
Glue stick
3" jar lid

Tools:
H Hook
Safety pin
Scissors
Glue gun


Instructions:
Ch 4.
Row 1:    Dc 15 times in ch 1.
              Sl st in ch 4.                              

Note:    Mark beginning st with safetypin.

Row 2:    Ch 3.
               *Dc 2, dc 1*.
               Repeat* 6 times.
               Dc 2. 
               Sl st in 3rd ch.                                      

Row 3:     Ch 3.
                *Dc 2, dc1*. 
                Repeat* 10 times.
                Dc 2.
                Sl st in 3rd ch.

Row 4:    Ch 3.
               Dc in ea st to end of row.
               Sl st in 3rd ch.

Row 5:    Ch 3.
               *Sk 1, sc 1*. 
               Repeat 4 times.
               Sl st in 3rd ch.

Row 6:    Ch 3.
               Dc 2 in ec st crocheting in bklp (backloop).
               Sl st in 3rd ch.

Row 7:    Ch 3:   
               Pick up both loops, dc in ea st.
               Sl st in 3rd ch.
               Weave in loose yarn.

Row 8:    Sc in ea st (2nd color) a border around hat.
               Sl st in 1st sc.
               Weave in loose yarn.


Bottom piece of hat.

Row 1:    Ch 3.
               Dc 15 times on ch 1.
               Sl st in 3rd ch.
             
Row 2:    Ch 3:    Dc 2 times in ea st.
               Sl st in 3rd ch.

Row 3:    Ch 3:
               *Dc 2, dc 1*.  Repeat* 14 times, dc1, dc1 in with 3 chs.

               Weave in loose yarn.

Tie:        120 chs.


Place a 3 3/4" strip of velcro in top of the lid.

Place a strip of 3 3/4" velcro in the bottom center of the hat.

Place the hat onto the lid.

My Garden Basket

6 rolls 3-ply, 200 ft (66-2/3 yds.) jute
1 cup white glue
Wooden handle is a weathered stick I found in a small wooded area.

Tools:
Q Hook
Scissors
Large bowl
Measuring cup
Tablespoon
Terry towel
Glue gun
Wire rack

Instructions

Ch 6
Row 1:    Sc 4 in ch 5.
               Sc in 3 chs.
               Sc 5 in ch 1.
               Sc 3 in chs.    (16 sts)

Row 2:    Sc 2 in ch 1.
               Note:  St in bklp to end.
               Sc, sc 2, sc, sc 2,  sc in 3 sts.  
               Sc 2, sc, sc 2, sc, sc 2, sc in 3 sts.    (22 sts)

Row 3:    *Sc 2, sc, sc 2, sc, sc 2, sc in 6 sts*.
               Repeat*    ((28 sts)

Stiffen Basket:
                    Measure 1 cup water, 1 cup white glue in bowl.
                    Work basket in solution.  Press out excessive
                    liquid.  Place on terry towel.  Shape.  Set for
                    12 hours.

                    Glue (glue gun) handle in place.
                    Place on wire rick to dry.

Materials:
Small roll of 3-ply jute
Dye...food coloring...Easter egg dye...or regular dye
Small shell...bead...your choice for knob
Glue stick

Tools:
H hook
Scissors
Glue gun
Instructions
Ch 2
Row 1:     Sc in 1st ch 6 times.
                  Note:    Sc st in back loop (bk lp) until finished.
Row 2:    Sc 2 times in next 6 sts.    (12 sts)
Row 3:    Note:    Mark beginning st with safety pin.

                  Sc in ea st.    (12 sts)
Row 4:    Repeat row 3.
Row 5:    Sc 1, sk 1, sc 1, sk 1, sc 1, sk 1, sc 1, sk 1, sc 1, sk 1, sc 1, sk 1.    (6 sts)
Weave loose jute into basket.  Trim.
Lid:
Ch 2
Row 1:      Sc in 1st ch 6 times.
Weave loose jute into lid.  Trim.
Dye according to instructions.  Shape and dry.
Glue knob on.
